Online Master of Education (M.Ed.) in
Workforce Development Education
The Workforce Development Education program is offered by the Department of Rehabilitation, Human Resources, and Communication Disorders in the College of Education and Health Professions. The program gives students the opportunity to earn a Master of Education (M.Ed.) Degree online. Students choose between three areas of concentration: Adult Education, Vocational Education, and Human Resource Development Education.
This is a 33-semester hour program with a comprehensive exam at the end. This degree, except for proctored exams taking during one course, will be offered exclusively via the Internet. Classes are offered online for 16 weeks during the fall and spring academic semesters. They follow a two-year rotation plan. Classes are also available during two five-week summer sessions.
These degrees prepare graduates to be teachers, administrators, or private consultants in higher education, academic, business, or industrial settings.
- Courses will conform to regular university semester and summer school schedules.
- Successful completion of a comprehensive written examination covering the entire degree program is required.
- Students will take the exam during their last semester of coursework.
- Proctored exams, if required, will be administered at convenient locations selected by the University of Arkansas.
- A student must have a cumulative grade average of 3.0 or higher to be eligible for graduation.
- Approved transfer credit will not exceed 6 hours.
- Should the university change the graduation fee of $30 prior to the time for payment, the new fee will take precedence.
- Adjustments in the procedures presented herein may be made at the discretion of the university.
