The mission of University Information Technology Services is to provide computing and network facilities and services in support of instruction, research and administration of the University of Arkansas' students, faculty and staff.
University IT Services provides a variety of computer accounts to students including e-mail, space for personal Web pages, and dial-up service for free Internet access.
All students in the Workforce Development Education program are required to activate and use their UARK e-mail account. When the RHRC Student Center, a faculty advisor, or an instructor is attempting to reach a student, they will use this account. UARK student e-mail addresses are also loaded into Blackboard, the software system used to administer courses. When an instructor sends an e-mail to a particular student or the entire class, the e-mail will automatically go to a student's UARK e-mail address.
Students have the option of forwarding their e-mails from their UARK account to their personal account, but they are advised not to do so. A better option would be to forward personal e-mail accounts to your UARK account. Personal e-mail accounts tend to change at least once during a student's career, and they fill up more quickly.
